I’ve just returned from my lovely holiday in the wet and wild moors of Yorkshire and had to post a blog about just the most glorious shop of vintage treasures! I’ve been here before on a previous holiday and just had to revisit…it didn’t disappoint and I left with a veritable haul of vintage loveliness! The shop is Tea Time Vintage in the quaint little village of Clapham https://m.facebook.com/Teatimevintage12/?locale2=en_GB…just a warning, if like me you are obsessed with anything bygone, then bring plenty of pennies!
Before you even set foot through the door there is so much to look at…including a bargain basement £1 box full of tea cups and saucers. Of course I had my brood with me, I was a little wary of this considering all the ceramics on display but they soon busied themselves in the vintage toy corner…the owner Tracey was so lovely with them and didn’t seem to mind them settling down for a play while I got on with trying to browse, she even gave them each a pack of love hearts to appease their frustration with Mummy spending an absolute age looking…and there is so much to look at!
This is just my kind of shop, I hate it when everything is laid out in places like this, here is a real sense of discovering a treasure hidden away! I found a beautiful typewriter in lovely condition and wondering if there were any old photos anywhere spied a box packed with them behind the counter…perfect for a future project!
I found a box of beautiful embroidered linens hidden in a basket under some vintage dresses, some wonderfully ornate spoons destined for my mixed media project where I mould existing items with paper, wax and fabric and a few other pieces…in fact, I had to wrap up before I spotted anything else I coveted jumped onto the counter!
I would totally recommend a visit here…trust me, you won’t be disappointed! Tracey, this is a stunner of a shop and I can’t wait to see what other treasures you have via your Facebook page, keep up the excellent work!
